About Us

The North Bay & District Home Builders' Association is the local level of a three-tier association structure. At the provinical level, we are the Ontario Home Builders' Association and at the national level, the Canadian Home Builders' Association.

Our membership represents all sectors of the residential construction industry. Our members agree to adhere to our Code of Ethics and we are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Our objectives are as follows:

• To improve the choice, quality, affordability, and character
   of homes for the people of North Bay and District.
• To represent its' members in matters of National, Provincial
   and local policy and legislation affecting the residential
   construction industry.

Our Code of Ethics:

•Members shall comply with the provincial building code, a minimum standard for construction and shall work towards its' improvement in the interest of structural sufficiency, safety and health.
•Members shall plan their sites and homes to conform to the
principals of good community planning.
•Members shall deal justly with their employees, sub-contractors
and suppliers.
•Members shall deal fairly and honestly with their customers.
•Members shall co-operate to increase the effectiveness of the
Association by exchanging information and experiences, and encouraging research on materials and techniques ignored to provide better homes at a lower cost.
•Members shall uphold the principle of appropriate and adequate
compensation for their services.
•Members shall avoid all conduct or practice likely to discredit or
do injury to the residential construction industry.
